Bad Times 03:58
Broken hearts and distant friends Diseases runnin' rampant and don't seem to end Followin' a ritual, solemn and it's pitiful Fulfillment stilted and hollow all up in your soul 'Cause you've been stuck in your head Motivation dissipatin' and disgusted again Nothin' like you had in mind And worried that you're past your prime Thinkin' that the Bad times can seem forever when you need to get up And move on, but where do ya turn? Most days just bleed together, especially whenever You're far gone, just a blur So many different languages for how to say the things That we want, but just can't attain Gotta find a new way to live to get away from this And stay strong I know you've been through enough Bitin' off more than you're chewin' up Backstabbed, don't know who to trust Disassociate, start losin' touch Used to fill me up with fright When I'd see you callin' in the middle of the night Knowin' full well that my help was limited Even if I was gonna try to be considerate Bad at takin' your own advice I was proud, though, when you took ahold o' your life And online you've been hidin' the pains But I still see more joy inside o' your face Maybe less parties and invites Instead in time increased insights From dealin' with grief to feelin' at peace Always a hope you're instillin' in me, but Bad times can seem forever when you need to get up And move on, but where do ya turn? Most days just bleed together, especially whenever You're far gone, just a blur So many different languages for how to say the things That we want, but just can't attain Gotta find a new way to live to get away from this And stay strong Bad times Bad times Bad, bad, bad Bad times can seem forever when you need to get up And move on, but where do ya turn? Most days just bleed together, especially whenever You're far gone, just a blur So many different languages for how to say the things That we want, but just can't attain Gotta find a new way to live to get away from this And stay strong

Oh My, Oh My 04:05
Reporting live from the depths of my head Freein' my cerebrum as I exit the dread 'Cause bad habits really turned me to a fat slob Steppin' on a scale, saying "whoa" like Black Rob Despair in the air threw me out o' wack Got reduced to a puddle like Alex Mack Had to counteract and get my swagger back Rechargin' my batteries like a power pack Makin' progress even if it's incremental Formulate songs, gettin' amped off the instrumental Surge of adrenaline, a palpitating heart Seekin' a connection just to validate the art Industry success can feel like the Powerball It's a steep climb up and the mountain's tall Maybe I'm cuckoo, bats in the belfry But this is my shot like I'm snappin' a selfie Oohh, oh my, oh my Had to strike back on 'em and you guys know why Man, I ain't gettin' younger, time goes by Long days, long nights, but I don't mind, like Oohh, oh my, oh my Had to strike back on 'em and you guys know why Man, I ain't gettin' younger, time goes by Long days, long nights, but I don't mind Yo, look, I don't wanna squabble over pettiness That ain't never ever gonna fill the emptiness In a much different place from where I started off Got bigger fish to fry, so grab the tartar sauce Sketchin' out plans like doodles During lunchtime over Japanese pan noodles Carefree livin', no scruples Those throwin' shade? Blow 'em off like bugles Twinkle in my pupils, ever since a little kid Here to flip your lid like the cap on a Mr. Pibb So drink a swig, it's what you been thirstin' for Taste so sweet, I eat beats like an herbivore Producers cookin' up another batch I glide over tracks like F-Zero hovercrafts Tell me break a leg and I'll leave limpin' Makin' crowds get loud like Steve Rifkind Oohh, oh my, oh my Had to strike back on 'em and you guys know why Man, I ain't gettin' younger, time goes by Long days, long nights, but I don't mind, like Oohh, oh my, oh my Had to strike back on 'em and you guys know why Man, I ain't gettin' younger, time goes by Long days, long nights, but I don't mind I see what's been envisioned, I just need me some ambition Ain't asleep at the wheel, but yo, my dreams have got me driven Key in the ignition while I speak it to existence A spring in my step and it's the season of fruition Listen, do ya'll feel me like the TSA? I'm tryin' to evoke emotions when ya see my name Allow me to reintroduce myself, a PSA But this ain't Hova, no, you're listenin' to C.M.J. And there's a lot o' things you need to understand You can't guilt-trip people into becoming your fans Can't get new results with the same actions And buildin' somethin' great really takes practice Dudes try to make it but they're lackin' self-awareness And that's a perfect recipe for you to get embarrassed Victories come one day at a time Gotta get it how you live it, so I'm makin' it mine, like Oohh, oh my, oh my Had to strike back on 'em and you guys know why Man, I ain't gettin' younger, time goes by Long days, long nights, but I don't mind, like Oohh, oh my, oh my Had to strike back on 'em and you guys know why Man, I ain't gettin' younger, time goes by Long days, long nights, but I don't mind Oh my, oh my, oh my Oh my, oh my, oh my Oh my, oh my, oh my Oh my, oh my Yeah, uh Oh my, oh my Oh my, oh my, oh my Oh my, oh my, oh my

There's a whole bunch o' things I could never relate to Systemic epidemics that shape you I could never say enough, our society's gross Deeds done dirty, no ivory soaps Shit can pop off, any minute it could go down Cops keep killin', 'specially if your skin tone's brown I mean, fifteen minutes from my own house They murdered George Floyd right here in my hometown Laid bare, no where that they could hide it So folks had to fight it, uprises and riots A lot o' tears shed, even more from the gasses My friends got arrested after rubber bullets blasted I still think about it, lookin' back, remembering So many nerves, nonstop news deafening Fights like wrestling, civil rights lessening Long nights cappin' off more days of reckoning But as flames burned it churned a revolution 'Cross continents for justice and restitution Marches in the U.K., murals in Syria Protests in Australia for people treated inferior Hard to process the magnitude After that day on 38th and Chicago Avenue Felt so far through every longitude and latitude But years later, still lots we have to do

No Compass 04:49
Some people fall victim All caught up in a place like never before Lights darken, exhausted Coast 'til you break down there at the end of the road Walking 'round, no compass Stranded somewhere still that's far from your home Calling out, find no one Sometimes you just gotta be on your own Perilous forecast, downpour risin' Widespread dead and now more dyin' Bad info leaves third eyes blinded Strainin' relations, hurt by lyin' Far gone friendships, ancient energy Mixed feelings of tainted memories At a loss for words with no syntax Wanton willingness to keep things intact Impact felt deep like knife wounds Bad vibrations, cold like ice cubes Can't help shiverin' inside Tears obscure that glimmer in my eye Losin' interest, stalled momentum Goals unravel, increased tension New normal, still got old angst Accept it? Nah, man, no thanks Some people fall victim All caught up in a place like never before Lights darken, exhausted Coast 'til you break down there at the end of the road Walking 'round, no compass Stranded somewhere still that's far from your home Calling out, find no one Sometimes you just gotta be on your own Keep me away from pretentious speeches Too many people attention seekers Often seems like it's a performance Food for the ego, not what's important I mean, I just wanna do right But lose sight when I'm wound up too tight Distractions stack like Pringles Spread like rashes, a patch of shingles Rebuilding, havin' to renovate Some days floatin', practically levitate Or feel small and pass as a featherweight Yin and yang, two halves of my mental state We all need somethin' to hold Tranquility comes and it goes Mindfulness has been calmin' the stress 'Cause age brings wisdom along with regrets Some people fall victim All caught up in a place like never before Lights darken, exhausted Coast 'til you break down there at the end of the road Walking 'round, no compass Stranded somewhere still that's far from your home Calling out, find no one Sometimes you just gotta be on your own Some people fall victim All caught up in a place like never before Lights darken, exhausted Coast 'til you break down there at the end of the road Walking 'round, no compass Stranded somewhere still that's far from your home Calling out, find no one Sometimes you just gotta be on your own

Memories stickin' to my brain like Post-It Notes And the bad ones choke my hopes I'm unlearning unhealthy underpinnings under pressure Unwind my mind like twine that was strung together Scatter-brained, negative thought patterns stay Rattlin' around from Sunday to Saturday Months turn to years, ponderin' where the time went Eyes squint, searchin' for somethin' greater for time spent Buildin' better livin' but been pestered by the pessimism Head is spinnin', twitchin', but sensin' that there's a lesson in it Lots o' lunacy when goin' through your miseries But find opportunities to grow like eucalyptus trees Got friends with rap lyrics tatted in their skin Philosophies fueled by what they're battlin' within Many mental maladies self-diagnosed By the folks tryin' to cope, barely hangin' by a rope, 'cause You can get lost when you think you're on the right track Beggin' and pleadin' for your life back And you can write a lot o' words without sayin' a thing I'm just tryin' to make sense and sing You can get lost when you think you're on the right track Beggin' and pleadin' for your life back And you can write a lot o' words without sayin' a thing I'm just tryin' to make sense and sing Some like preachin' to the choir in a bubble Scary when your echo chamber finally turns to rubble Glass house shattering, a fortress full of smoke and fire Leaving shell-shocked like a tortoise on a broken wire Walking over eggshells, yoke-covered faces Gorge on a smorgasbord of crows at a banquet Spooning with the shadows, strolling where the valley's long Past life fades where my days felt halcyon See, you can put yourself on an altar Sacrifice it all, cross your fingers, and falter And some stand strong as the Rock Of Gibraltar But the walls start to fall, left to fend with the vultures Can't subsist off o' porn and tortilla chips Filled with self-made scorn but I need a lift You gotta learn to live, so you can live and love it And fill your own cup up before you kick the bucket You can get lost when you think you're on the right track Beggin' and pleadin' for your life back And you can write a lot o' words without sayin' a thing I'm just tryin' to make sense and sing You can get lost when you think you're on the right track Beggin' and pleadin' for your life back And you can write a lot o' words without sayin' a thing I'm just tryin' to make sense and sing Gnis dna esnes ekam ot 'niyrt tsuj m'I Gniht a 'niyas tuohtiw sdrow 'o tol a etirw nac uoy dna Kcab efil ruoy rof 'nidaelp dna 'niggeb Kcart thgir eht no er'uoy kniht uoy nehw tsol teg nac uoy Gnis dna esnes ekam ot 'niyrt tsuj m'I Gniht a 'niyas tuohtiw sdrow 'o tol a etirw nac uoy dna Kcab efil ruoy rof 'nidaelp dna 'niggeb Kcart thgir eht no er'uoy kniht uoy nehw tsol teg nac uoy
