Silence Into Sound
03:29
|
|||
Fate is complicated and explanations are counterfeit
Ancients calculated the ages upon an abacus
From Bronx parties to upsettin' the establishment
To artists dawnin' and spawnin' across the atlases
I found life movin' my tongue over the drums
The melodies enveloped me and opened my lungs
And if color blind men developed chromesthesia
Their black-and-white world would retreat into amnesia
With every note heard as the sound arises
My optics set on prospects over horizons
Made through the language and vibrations of rappin'
If silence is golden, I'm makin' things platinum
John Cage could play 4'33"
I'd bust an acapella out where every rest is
Songs in my head, compose when I'm given beats
Makin' def jams like Beethoven with symphonies
Nothin' into somethin', silence into sound
Make a little music, what is it about
Nothin' into somethin', silence into sound
Charting out the next days in the underground
Nothin' into somethin', silence into sound
Everybody's workin', reachin' for the crown
Nothin' into somethin', silence into sound
This is a new age
I've been rappin' since Booker T's first World Title reign
Drop bombs on songs like Funk Flex in a fighter plane
Flow like tidal waves, but far from washed up
Still hungry, look at my 30's like it's a potluck
An industry where half the rappers are lightweights
With no substance, all fluff like rice cakes
I'ma derail the hype train
Deflate their limo-sized egos and put 'em back in the bike lane
Broke musicians got somethin' to prove
And I gave it all up for this, nothin' to lose
Just a gifted individual with a mission to win
Tryin' to get more attention than a Ritalin binge
I'm a Minnesotan, Minneapolis the catalyst
For independence, I'm like an acrobatic actor rappin'
Flippin' the script, make vinyl fly off shelves
With hot enough raps to burn up wax like Icarus did
Nothin' into somethin', silence into sound
Make a little music, what is it about
Nothin' into somethin', silence into sound
Charting out the next days in the underground
Nothin' into somethin', silence into sound
Everybody's workin', reachin' for the crown
Nothin' into somethin', silence into sound
This is a new age
Listen closely between choruses
Bend words like magic, this contortionist sorcerer's
A wordsmith who sculpts verses like pottery
Givin' you a piece of my mind like a lobotomy
Fuck this economy's cataclysmic
Capitalistic conditions that have been doggin' me
I'm caught between fostering my skills and expression
And how I can properly make bills and investments
Artists take a lot o' shit like colostomy bags
Testin' one's patience like a hospital's labs
It's a talent findin' the right balance
And I'm not willin' to walk away from the challenge
The only way you'll ever see Christopher walkin'
Is if you're into cinema watchin'
Because to me it isn't an option, I've come a long a way
And now it's a new age

Nihilist's Jingle
03:41
|
|||
An ominous glow looms on faces
Of downtrodden folks who lose illumination
Finding mutilated remains of what's needed
Stuck back pieces without any adhesive
Where do we go from here? How do we proceed?
Stitched up hearts coming apart at the seams
Excavating optimism from a nihilist
Another day that I exist
Go deep into your soul like the baritone of Barry White
Harsh times can reduce paragons to parasites
Hard to walk parallel, paralyzed in pairs of Nikes
Paring down your perils while parroting your parents' advice
Barely a life when there's nothin' to live fo'
Laugh away the insults, lacerate your lymph nodes
Agitated, aggravated, amputate your limbs off
Sound of one hand clapping, masturbating, single
Castrated, casually cast away to sing songs
Toss a couple dollars and I'll rock a bunch o' jingles
So raise an hourglass for another toast
To never dying, only crying, trying to be dope
Yo, I'm driven but I'm drowning, but I'm fly enough to float
So I'm sipping from a fountain as I drive into a moat
Like I'm living in a mountain as I climb up and I'm close
To just clinging onto clouds if I get high enough to hope
An ominous glow looms on faces
Of downtrodden folks who lose illumination
Finding mutilated remains of what's needed
Stuck back pieces without any adhesive
Where do we go from here? How do we proceed?
Stitched up hearts coming apart at the seams
Excavating optimism from a nihilist
Another day that I exist
Sometimes your own home becomes enemy turf
They exclude you from refuge and you're steadily hurt
The levy has burst, screamin' out damn it all
Like a death ray through your chestplate or a cannonball
Escalatin', so I'm ventin', but need ventilation
Deep breaths, meditatin' on if I need medication
Devastated, drummin' up drama but dream of better places
Tryin' to translate transgressions to entertainment
Dilapidated like a derelict with demons deep and dark
Snarling snidely while they sneak into my heart
Triggering anxieties like pistols to the temple
Feeling flatlined and forgotten, fears that ripple in the mental
If it's simple as a sentimental sentiment in sentences
I'll sing a song to single out my temperament and better it
Conjecture in my messages, adventurous but reticent
Complexities continue while I'm pressed against the Plexiglas
Staring through it like the window to my soul
And I batter it until the fragments shatter and get broke
Not ecstatic in the static, staying stagnant and alone
Stashing rations in a cavern that I'm wrapped in like a cloak
Passing by my passions in a pageant for the throne
'Cause I'm tasked with the attachments that I have to make my own
And calendars can captivate while calculating goals
But the failure's like coagulated capillaries closed
An ominous glow looms on faces
Of downtrodden folks who lose illumination
Finding mutilated remains of what's needed
Stuck back pieces without any adhesive
Where do we go from here? How do we proceed?
Stitched up hearts coming apart at the seams
Excavating optimism from a nihilist
Another day that I exist

Raise Up
03:59
|
|||
We got murderers that pose as police
Meanwhile, child molesters posin' as priests, there's no peace
Floatin' in nonsense, Republicans floodin' the government
Holdin' it hostage, soon as they vote 'em to Congress
Doesn't matter who's runnin', do nothin', controllin' your prospects
False idols are posin' as prophets
Fitting, 'cause they're only focused on profits
And only care about you if ya open your wallets
Open your eyelids, the system we live in is fucked
Flavor Aid laced with cyanide, drinkin' it up
Pour a little iodine into the cut
Because America's history was scripted and written in blood
And these wounds have been infected for years
It's high time that somebody injected the cure
The message is clear, we gotta raise up
And take what's rightfully ours back from these fake fucks
Yeah, we gotta raise up
We gotta, w-w-w-we gotta raise up
When they gonna wake up? We don't want that same stuff
Nothin's gonna change if we don't make it change up, so we gotta
W-w-w-we gotta raise up
We gotta, w-w-w-we gotta raise up
People goin' bankrupt, bodies gettin' chained up
Somethin's gotta change, so we gotta make it change up
It's a systemic epidemic and we want improvement, not excuses
Stop the foolishness of tryin' to get around the Constitution
Watch the news and see it spun like helicopters movin'
You can try to justify it but they're still brainwashin' viewers
Demonizing honest humans, twistin' facts to scoff at looters
Strangers in a comment section callin' them some jobless losers
Police sprayin' mace and labelin' them opportunists
Protesters arrested just to send a message to the larger movement
A constant problem, bringin' charges, a process this convoluted
Resulting in cops' abuses never prosecuted
So there isn't much restriction if and when they wanna shoot us
Elderly to elementary, poor to college students
It's been happenin' since lynch mobs with nooses
An abundance of injustice, disgustin' like vomit pukin'
Uncoverin' corruption but others deny the truth then
Gotta raise up 'til they wake up like roosters that's cockadoodlin'
Yeah, we gotta raise up
We gotta, w-w-w-we gotta raise up
When they gonna wake up? We don't want that same stuff
Nothin's gonna change if we don't make it change up, so we gotta
W-w-w-we gotta raise up
We gotta, w-w-w-we gotta raise up
People goin' bankrupt, bodies gettin' chained up
Somethin's gotta change, so we gotta make it change up
A lot o' Christian hypocrites peddlin' prejudice
Whenever they're callin' all of the Muslims terrorists
Trigger happy Christians committin' more acts of senselessness
White Americans are in bed with the white supremacists
Look the other way on cover-ups by church higher-ups and fundamentalists
Guilty of oppressiveness
But claim their religion's the victim of offensiveness
Even though they've held the power since the European settlements
Imperialistic mindsets loomin' large
It's not debatable, we all know who's in charge
Distorted moral authority from majorities
Discerning who's disorderly, controlling them accordingly
Sanitize their own crimes and revise things historically
To paint a fake picture like a forgery
So they can't be trusted when they say who they purport to be
If we don't raise up, they're gonna keep on doin' it forcibly
Yeah, we gotta raise up
We gotta, w-w-w-we gotta raise up
When they gonna wake up? We don't want that same stuff
Nothin's gonna change if we don't make it change up, so we gotta
W-w-w-we gotta raise up
We gotta, w-w-w-we gotta raise up
People goin' bankrupt, bodies gettin' chained up
Somethin's gotta change, so we gotta make it change up
Raise up

Sea Salt Caramel
03:52
|
|||
This is the best thing since Sea Salt Caramel frozen yogurt (mmmm)
Minnesota's own, I rep the state just like a Golden Gopher
My lines are similar to smokin' coke up, even though I'm sober
Don't even drink, my taste buds soaked in Coca-Cola
Life's a roller coaster since I was tall enough to ride
Pissed with a clenched fist, I ball it up inside
'Til I blow up like an air mattress
But don't sleep on me, I got what you need just like a CARE Package
Homie, I spit flame emojis, sort of like it's arson, yo
These emcees best retreat, with all this heat inside my arsenal
Yeah, rapper, get lost, go hit the bricks like Mario
Milk all of the trends until you need another carton full
These artists, oh, they alienate me like a Martian's home
So I sit inside of a dark room like Charlie Rose
Tryin' to write the greatest verse for the studio
So I can make it in this life before the hearse and the funeral
But I know everything could all change in an instant
Paint a picture for yourself, go define your existence
Yeah, I know, but really, we don't know much at all
So I'll rhyme 'til I die, hang my frame on the wall
Because I know everything could all change in an instant
Death could take you any moment, go define your existence
Yeah, I know, but really, we don't know much at all
So I'll rhyme 'til I die, fuck it, let's have a ball
Because I live life, do right, do wrong, it's hit-or-miss
We're all lookin' for that truth, but nothing is definitive
'Cause organized religion is assorted lies and ignorance
Scripture's just a twisted mess, deforming minds of little kids
Church propaganda destroys seeds, it's herbicidal
I left it in the past in a stack of burning Bibles
Man, I'm down in the dumps and it's takin' its toll (uhhh)
Drowning in a sea of memes with inspirational quotes
We all play this game, and if you wanna make a change
Gotta be greater than your desire to stay the same
I think I need a fresh change of scenery, for real, I mean
A new cast of characters maybe, for me to meet and greet
Longing for another's touch so much that I can barely focus
Human lips, a gluteus, hair, a pair of areolas
That'd be nice, something for me to grasp to
And take the edge off o' this knife inflicting stab wounds
I know everything could all change in an instant
Paint a picture for yourself, go define your existence
Yeah, I know, but really, we don't know much at all
So I'll rhyme 'til I die, hang my frame on the wall
Because I know everything could all change in an instant
Death could take you any moment, go define your existence
Yeah, I know, but really, we don't know much at all
So I'll rhyme 'til I die, fuck it, let's have a ball
Because I know
Yeah, I know
Do you know?
Yeah, you know

[Christopher Michael Jensen & Panash]
[Chris]: So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: Here we go again, yeah, it's time to get up
Nothin' like the present, everybody come and get some
So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: Here we go again, and I already said it
'Cause I wake up every mornin' just to get it
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
Yo, I'm feelin' quite exemplary, at least momentarily
It's fire when I ride the beat like carousels with kerosene
Droppin' songs as hot as Audrey Plaza knockin' coffee on ya
Mixin' wisdom in this diction, calmer than the Dalai Lama
A laid back track like one o' J Dilla's tapes
Create vivid pictures in your brains like acrylic paints
Pack the people tighter than yoga pants on a bubble butt
And get 'em jumpin' up like students doin' the double Dutch
So driven I buckle up, and if I have to knuckle up
To fight for this life, I will, don't wanna fuck it up
Steady puttin' veggies more so in my intestinal
And so I started breathin' a little easier when I flow
Back in high school I was letterin' as a wrestler
Settin' up successes to step it up on the regular
'Til I'm intercontinental, chillin' out in Chechnya
And havin' good days like O'Shea on The Predator
[Nathan Ejuwa]
Yo, non-secular, my agenda
Hear me roar, came from the north shore
What's more, it rains and pours
Cats and dogs, hands and arms
One day as I ran along
I caught a rut, it was forestalled
Lookin' back, I had it all
To stand tall ya had to
Yo, autumn came like a memory
Brought good times and revelries
Yo, I can't remember all the Hennessy
Tip one to the fact that we here and prosperity
Yo, and good charity
Know that's your favorite, exchange views with Larry David
Painted faces, we speak in different languages
But how you livin', man? Are you okay with this?
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Panash]
[Chris]: So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: Here we go again, yeah, it's time to get up
Nothin' like the present, everybody come and get some
So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: Here we go again, and I already said it
'Cause I wake up every mornin' just to get it
[Panash]
(Panash The Nerd) Yeah, isn't it awesome how I ride the beat so easily? (too easy)
Money-maker face just like The Miz, that's why they feature me (too greasy)
Chillin' right beside my ride-or-die, she somethin' like Maryse
You hesitant to set the precedent, ain't no impeachin' me (yeah)
From the home o' Air Force One, I think I'm fly as Barack
Take off my shades and steal the show, I'm somethin' like The Rock (if ya smell)
Again with the wrestlin' raps? He need a new gimmick
But as long as leg drops pop, I'll never need a new finish (brother)
Anywho, I'm ready to blow like when the bomb's lit (boom)
And I'ma keep it bangin', you rap and then hear the gong hit (boom)
Boy, you must be jokin', I'm smokin' like when the bong's hit
You heard me, yeah, you nerdy as Cory, I'm on some Shawn shit
T.G.I.F., I got that three day weekend disposition (uh huh)
I'm doin' stuff and livin' good, mayne, really I'm just chillin' (uh huh)
As lit as half a zip, and yeah, we on some classic shit
And I ain't standin' for it either, word to Colin Kaepernick
Seven
[Rich Garvey]
I wake up just to get it (yeah), this that Chronicles Of Riddick
This a beaker to a chemist, we winnin' (yah), they playin' scrimmage
Refined taste so vintage like the phantom o' the menace (yah, yah, yah, yah)
Got a six pack o' Guinness and a blunt to replenish me (yah, yah, aye)
Cockin' my weaponry, with hope-filled soliloquies
When fakers wouldn’t get at me, now they beggin' on they knees
Still can’t finagle me, an outcast like Django, B
I gave her my world, she strong-arm then tried to strangle me (nah, nah)
Still I arise through ashes like Muhammad, young Cassius
This aint no easy come up, boy, don't even dare to ask us (float, flow, aye)
Seen 'em copy my vision, now they got the game backwards (fuck 'em, aye)
Feelin' like denyin' access, boy, you stealin', pay your taxes
Bitin' just like arachnids, guess these crabs is gettin' restless
I sent a prayer for 'em, lord knows they really helpless (yeah, yah, yah, yah, yah, uh huh)
But we young leaders, marchin' to the future
This that motivation flow, ain't that jive that you're used to (nah uh)
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Panash]
[Chris]: So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: Here we go again, yeah, it's time to get up
Nothin' like the present, everybody come and get some

[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
[Panash]: Okay
[Chris]: Here we go again, and I already said it
'Cause I wake up every mornin' just to get it
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
Here we go again, yeah, it's time to get up
Nothin' like the present, everybody come and get some
So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
So what ya doin'? How ya livin'? Are you okay?
Here we go again, and I already said it
'Cause I wake up every mornin' just to get it

Adventures In Hip Hop
04:37
|
|||
I'll reminisce for a spell, here's part of my bio
A young man, but a while since I started to rhyme, though
Lookin' back to the early years of Napster
Downloading some b-sides by Marshall Mathers
Watchin' some rap videos on MTV
And my brother had a folder full of MP3's
Ridin' 'round town with him in his car
Cash Money and DMX on burnt CD-R's
13-years-old, and when I turned 15
He got me Supreme Clientele and The Expansion Team
I even recall my last day of 8th grade
When my brother purchased Enter The Wu-Tang
Mom-and-pop shops had the records I'd buy
I got used copies of Illmatic and Ready To Die
Mainstream to underground, bought all the classics
First heard Atmosphere in '03 on a class trip
Not too long after, I remember me
Gettin' to go to my first show at age 17
Thinkin' back on it fondly
Got to catch Immortal Technique's set followed up by Brother Ali
This was back in 2004
They had the fans screamin' and fiendin' and shoutin' for more
And I was playin' talent shows, makin' albums at my home
Hard to imagine back then what would happen down the road
Yeah, hip hop, it started out in the park
And there's a lot o' different people that I found in this art
The beat is similar to the sound of my heart
And honestly I'm just proud to be part
After high school, college was a drain, got some knowledge in my brain
But all I really wanted was to hop up on the stage
Depression as a freshman kept extendin' eight semesters
Never missed a class, but spittin' raps was better than a lecture
Started writin' a mixtape in the back of my class
Teacher taught Shakespeare while I was practicin' tracks
A couple months shy of my graduation
I dropped the project and plotted what to make next
And I gotta thank Zuckerberg and Tom
The Internet helped with the discovery of my songs
Finished school in '09 and then I knew it was time
To fully do this music, pursuin' a movement and grind
I kept studying the culture and honin' my craft
Until eventually I'd get to be an opening act
Started networkin' insane and sendin' out e-mails
Tryin' to book venues while broke, workin' in retail
Meetings every place I'd go, had to learn the basics, though
Tryin' to stay afloat at nearly vacant shows takes its toll
Frustrations showed, then I had a falling out
With some individuals I didn't need to be around
A blessing in disguise, I was wrestling with my
Own desires to go find out what would benefit my life
And then I found it, and it's still hard to describe the
People I met next and what we'd start to inspire
Because hip hop, it started out in the park
And there's a lot o' different people that I found in this art
The beat is similar to the sound of my heart
And honestly I'm just proud to be part
Uh huh, because hip hop, it started out in the park
And there's a lot o' different people that I found in this art
The beat is similar to the sound of my heart
And honestly I'm just proud to be part
Began hangin' with a bunch o' young artists and bonded
It was like a family and people started respondin'
Right place, right time, it was something organic
House parties and cyphers and it kept on expandin'
Dropped some compilations, songs were playin' on the stations
Local press and interviews and things just started changin'
A domino effect, did a lot o' shows and sets
The crowds got bigger, we were on a roll and kept
Finding different ways to grow what we were doin'
Some fell by the wayside, but others kept it movin'
Yeah, it really pained me when some of the drama ensued
But it helped me to learn how you gotta get through
Ambition and toxins are a bad mixture
Had to remove the negative to develop the picture
Got savvier at business with minimal debt
Even got a lot o' props from heads givin' respect
That kind of emotion, man, it's wild how it feels
Awesome things blossoming, and it felt so surreal
The day I got to rap for Sway on Shade 45
I even played with Cage and Slick Rick, performin' live
The kind o' stuff you think about with your eyes closed
I've come so far, I'm opening for my idols
So listen closely to what I say on the mic
Because I owe it all to hip hop for changin' my life
Yeah, hip hop, it started out in the park
And there's a lot o' different people that I found in this art
The beat is similar to the sound of my heart
And honestly I'm just proud to be part
That's right, you know that hip hop, it started out in the park
And there's a lot o' different people that I found in this art
The beat is similar to the sound of my heart
And honestly I'm just proud to be part

No Regrets
03:45
|
|||
Yes, shout out to Egypto Knuckles on the beat, come on
What manifests the perspective of pessimists?
I guess it depends on where their head has been
Let me put some words inside this thought bubble
Show you what I've been thinkin' about, got stubble
Ain't shaved in days, a frown covered in hair
Eatin' Peanut M&M's, up late watchin' Colbert
Ponder life 'til the birds outside chirpin'
Dreams with no sleep until I feel my eyes burnin'
Billion dollar companies cunningly squelchin' personalities
And sellin' false realities
Tempted and tormented by a fallacy
As if my self-worth was relative to salary
Sprinting in this race just to stay on pace
Still punchin' clocks so my bank statement's straight
I wanna literally cold cock a clock in its face
'Til it breaks, set the hands back and recalibrate the days
Ain't got a clue of what I'm doin'
Makin' it up and keep pursuin'
And even if I still end up losin'
Got no regrets, got no regrets, got no regrets, no
But music helps when I'm caught in a slump
Boostin' me up to get over the hump
Winning crowds at 7th Street, Amsterdam, and Triple Rock
Tastes good as a Bruce Lee Burger at Ginger Hop
Hangin' up posters and passin' out flyers
Stayin' visible so the buzz doesn't expire
Moves made with dues paid and still working
And people like to mention my resemblance to Bill Murray
Which is apt, days feel like they're on repeat
Elongated chases to make it into the elite
Seen a lot o' dudes quit when it didn't come quick
Developing movements isn't for the unfit
But what's next when you figured out answers
And still can't seem to make bigger advances
In accordance with affordin' what's priceless
Givin' good advice but a victim to your vices
Ain't got a clue of what I'm doin'
Makin' it up and keep pursuin'
And even if I still end up losin'
Got no regrets, got no regrets, got no regrets, no
Dark days need ulraviolet rays
Or a little Tribe Called Quest to be played
Still lookin' for my Bonita Applebum
Searchin' where the Minneapple's hung
Fruitless, just feelin' like a vegetable
Plans get retooled when the wrench is thrown
As the point gets drilled into my head
Construct something different and build it up instead
'Cause old wounds heal, peel off the Band-Aid
A bright landscape, take off the lamp shade
Take lonesomeness, the financial burdens
The missed opportunities, and setbacks occurrin'
And just wad 'em up, throw 'em in a trash compactor
Step back from the past onto the path that's after
Time to escape, make a break from this routine
Write out goals and turn over a new loose leaf
Ain't got a clue of what I'm doin'
Makin' it up and keep pursuin'
And even if I still end up losin'
Got no regrets, got no regrets, got no regrets, no

[Christopher Michael Jensen]
You don't wanna come around here
No, you don't, you don't wanna come around here
Y-you don't, you don't wanna come around here
Just talkin' crazy like we don't hear
Man, you don't, you don't wanna come around here
No, you don't, you don't wanna come around here
You don't, you don't wanna come around here
So get the fuck out and disappear
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
Dance to the song
Me and SOFTPORE goin' ham like a hog
Partyin' like I'm Harley Quinn
In other words, I just jam with the squad
You should stand and applaud
It's a wrap, put the bandages on
Lockin' it down while I rock for the crowd
Under bright lights like a tanning salon
Goin' nuts like Jif, raisin'
Green like celery, that's ants on a log
My writing process, dude
Is like unprocessed food, stanzas are raw
And if ya talk smack, put my hand to your jaw
With the Mandible Claw 'til you can't even talk
'Cause you don't wanna start that shit
Better off gettin' tossed in a sarlacc pit
My condolences, snatch the microphone and then
I have to clean house like my job was a custodian
I'm floorin' 'em, hashtag linoleum
Got rappers feelin' salty as sodium
Because I stole the whole show from them
And do it everytime, whether headline or openin'
You wanna battle? We can go toe-to-toe again
I'm Mewtwo to you level one Pokémon
Yahh, focus blast
Live performance, no vocal tracks
You against me's like a soccer mom
Versus Ronda in the octagon
Or comparin' Papa John's to
Lucé, are you out your mind?
We tear the roof off, replace the shingles
Three emcees on a beat from Shrimpnose
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Antioch]
[Chris]: You don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: 'Round here
[Chris]: No, you don't, you don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: 'Round here
[Chris]: Y-you don't, you don't wanna come around here
Just talkin' crazy like we don't hear
[Antioch]: Hey, hey
[Chris]: Man, you don't, you don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: 'Round here
[Chris]: No, you don't, you don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: 'Round here
[Chris]: You don't, you don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: 'Round here
[Chris]: So get the fuck out and disappear
[Antioch]: Aye, aye, aye
[Antioch]
I had to jerk back with the wheel (aye)
Ya'll curb crashed the Deville (aye)
Bitch don't serve crack with your wrist ass (aye)
Prob'ly too Smith to be Will (aye)
Prob'ly too smooth to be real (aye)
I got Robinson on the Will (aye)
I got gold chains on my cast (aye)
So my bone game stay trill (aye, aye)
Been around the way like it was nothin' (whoa)
Still smokin' on the cigs that I was bummin'
Ain't shit changed but the engine off a governor (yeah)
I cop another hundred and then spend it on abundance (aye, aye, aye)
Whoa
[Jayke Rhymes]
I be chillin' in the trap
Ackbar
Yeah, and all I hear in rap is some
Wack bars
See you struggle with your flows
It ain't that hard
See you sleepin' on the sofa
Xan bars
I don't really know where I'm headed
Stay hungry, no, I never wait for breakfast
Heart don't beat, but I never see a medic
Winds will wither, no winter where I'm headed (huhh)
All our weather is heat
See no tree, better leaf
I don't roll up no weed
I just say fuck the police
I just let 'em know, we Hulk incredible
Got no pedestal, send out the centerfolds
Sex so forgettable, wish I had slept alone
Don't cause an episode, don't check my phone
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
You don't wanna come around here
No, you don't, you don't wanna come around here
Y-you don't, you don't wanna come around here
Just talkin' crazy like we don't hear
Man, you don't, you don't wanna come around here
No, you don't, you don't wanna come around here
You don't, you don't wanna come around here
So get the fuck out and disappear
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Antioch]
[Chris]: You don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: 'Round here
[Chris]: You don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: 'Round here
[Chris]: You don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: Hey
[Chris]: Just talkin' crazy like we don't hear
Man, you don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: 'Round here
[Chris]: You don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: 'Round here
[Chris]: You don't wanna come around here
[Antioch]: Hey
[Chris]: So get the fuck out and disappear

Powder Keg
02:10
|

Connecting dots of overloaded thoughts has gotten very old
While my brain's bombarded by bits of binary code
Drastically dramatic dreams drift in and out my head
Pent up rage, it's got me feelin' like a powder keg
She loves me not, pluckin' peddles in a flowerbed
Holding myself beneath the warmth of a shower head
Anxiety-induced migraine, the pain we try and cope with
Please supply a dosage of highly potent ibuprofen
Because my mind is pulsin', and my entire skull inside's erodin'
And my lack of exercise is showin'
Fervor festering to feast on the spoils of the Earth
Hungering and struggling, but we've been toiling since birth
You grow up just to get run down
They wind you up so tight you need to be unwound
But some people unravel and just continue to string along
'Til they can't fight or join in the sing along
And it's cold
So cold
It's so cold
So cold
It's so cold
So cold
It's so cold
So cold
So cold

Wandering
04:18
|
|||
Look into my lens, as the record playin' music spins
Reflecting visions of a former Lutheran
The projection's pretend if it blurs the view within
Plenty lessons you can get when depressed and you're turnin' to your friends
Decompressed some pressures ever since I learned to use a pen
But do contend with stresses yet to lessen, burnin' fuel again
Energy depleted 'cause I'm mentally defeated
Trippin' off a food addiction, any recipe, I'll eat it
As a young'n, I just wanted to be loved (loved)
By a woman that wanted more than a hug (hug)
But when your focus is on loneliness, it adds to the hopelessness
Blunders pull you under while others tell you get over it
And I don't wanna nitpick, but I wish that I could write myself a wish list
'Cause there's some things which you can't ask for at Christmas
And a whole lot that I've been waiting to witness
'Cause I know what I want, but I don't know what I need to get
Where I need to live
So I try not to squander your advice that I've pondered
But I'm lost and I wander alone again
Feelings for another turn to veins full of Novocain
My heart goes numb, always saying no to pain
But I'm scared to be forever in my singularity
I wait with baited breath as it suffocates the air in me
Chokin' on desires that just keep expanding wider
And I try to vocalize it but my thoughts are kept in private
So I'm sprawled on a mattress, gazing at a screen
Pornographic images are closer than my dreams
Tantalizing fantasies that fan the flames of amnesty
Freedom through the friction, rub me right until I am at peace
Unreciprocated love turns to artificial lust
Fist coiling a serpent, hissing in disgust
Feelin' the release as a piece inside of me dies (dies)
'Cause it feels like I'll never be alive
Never be surprised, 'cause every disguise
Covers the intentions that I hide
'Cause I know what I want, but I don't know what I need to get
Where I need to live
So I try not to squander your advice that I've pondered
But I'm lost and I wander alone yet again
Yet again
I need to get where I need to live
Yet again, yet again
Hmmmmm, hmmmmm
Recollections of the first girl that I slept with
Spur of the moment without any investment
Nervous at first as we merged and connected
Happy that I did it even though I second guessed it
The room was hot, the fan wasn't workin'
Sweat poured, emotions soared, candles were burnin'
It was like an awakening from the first embrace
To be that close to another person's face
There's a certain place your mind goes when you're intimate
A temporary hope that feels infinite (infinite)
Pretty late in life when I finally lost my innocence
And when I lost it, I found something different
I prob'ly learned just as much in isolation
Bedridden, head spinnin' from the nights of waitin'
'Cause good things don't come to those that wait
They happen takin' action when you create your fate
'Cause I know what I want, but I don't know what I need to get
Where I need to live
So I try not to squander your advice that I've pondered
But I'm lost and I wander alone but it's not the end
It's not the end
No, it's not the end, no, it's not the end
No, it's not the end
It's not the end

[Christopher Michael Jensen]
Heightened stakes in the United States, I'm sick o' this
Things are hard to swallow like cement mix and I'ma shit a brick
Incredulous what we can digest and it's insidious
Ridiculous hypocritical idiots with ill intent
Got me thinkin' militant, like how can someone live with it
Millions actin' like they don't even give a shit
The public doesn't follow politics like it isn't significant
Well, maybe you'd think it is if you lived in Flint, Michigan
Where they're more concerned with penny-pinchin' than their own citizens
Corrosive pipelines are poisonin' sinks with lead
Killin' men, women, and children when they go drink from them
Literal political toxicity's imminent
These ideologues are cogs destroyin' the innocent
Sycophants to a machine feeding off ignorance
You can spell it out, but if we're just kept illiterate
The rich get richer while pissing on their constituents
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Slither in the grass with their fingers in the cash
You can look me in the eyes but I see right through
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Slither in the grass with their fingers in the cash
You can look me in the eyes but I see right through
[Seiler]
Your broken system of tokenism, throw 'em in prison
Make a million off 'em, never offer 'em ways to do it different
It's supervision, or pseudo visions of hoop commitments
Or blue and crimson, illuminatin' the room you live in
No room for livin', the air is thick with arrogance
Perilous for the parentless derelicts that ain't scared o' shit
America's but a plea bargain while we starvin'
Elephants enter the room, hee-hawin'
Keep talkin' out your culo, cool, bro
You'll get exposed faster than Janet Jack' at the Sup' Bowl
I can look in your pupils and tell that you can't be trusted
I ain't one to be fucked with
Call 'em out when they're bluffin'
We ballin' without a budget
Your budget's out, now you're ballin'
Pardon me for my mouth, but right now you're part of the problem
Had falling-outs with the law, corrupted, cuff 'em, and box 'em
Right when you think you know 'em, you really don't know shit about 'em
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Slither in the grass with their fingers in the cash
You can look me in the eyes but I see right through
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Slither in the grass with their fingers in the cash
You can look me in the eyes but I see right through
[North Star Wisdom]
Cruise blacked out and never back down
I bring the crack sound of black crowns fallin' fast, often passed down
I pass out and wake up to the snakes in the grass
And if you can't swallow the pain, then you ain't blazin' the path
Or baptizing that silence, chastising that ego
Blindsided by the underground, they pop pop and reload
On some fuck cops and blood offerings to cop a kilo
I'd rather jump off a bridge than be caught up in that disease, though
After we go rock a show, I'm watchin' Zeitgeist with cats with nine lives
Still smack a wise guy for downing black lives
I've been the scapegoat, the black sheep, the whiskey, and the rye
I've seen the war outside and never been so unafraid to die
They sanctify the flag and crucify your martyrs
We break the silence, pray for quiet, euthanize the market
Stock prices fall, interest rates rise into the atmosphere
It's make-or-break, so cover the bones up under the carpet
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Slither in the grass with their fingers in the cash
You can look me in the eyes but I see right through
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Ain't no tellin' what these people might do
Slither in the grass with their fingers in the cash
You can look me in the eyes but I see right through

[Citizen]: Yo Chris, what up?
[Chris]: Yo, you ready to do this track?
[Citizen]: Yeah, you kn-already, kn-uuuhhhh
[Chris]: Yo, just swear a lot on the intro
[Citizen]: Citizen and Chris, you motherfucker, you
[Model Citizen]
Microphones turn into smoldering embers
When I'm colder than the worst Minnesota Decembers
I'm an anomaly of scientific law
I'm naked dick inside of a vagina, get it? Raw
I'm all of the above, word to J-Live
Motherfuck a beer snob, I prefer a St. Ides
You can try and weed out all these herbs, but they thrive
While these alt-right Nazis regurgitate lies
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
So this is dedicated to them zany incensed
Ladies and gents who need to get their craniums checked
Fuck a right-winger's excuses
I'd really love to punch Donald Trump 'til his mug is lookin' like Ted Cruz's
They're gettin' lazier, the world's gettin' crazier
And crazier, and fake as the blatant stuff that they're makin' up
I'll break into Fox News to stop the insanity
And pull Sean Hannity's head from his anal cavity
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Model Citizen]
Oh no, what did I do
Stomped the competition, got 'em under my shoe
Oh, whoa, what have I done
Got it on lock, ya'll are under my thumb
Yo, I think we gotta ease up on 'em
Oh, shit, we gotta ease up on 'em
Yo, I think we gotta ease up on 'em
Yeah, we gotta ease up on 'em
[Model Citizen]
Backpack rapper, flask in the JanSport
Bitch, I'm doper than what you and your man snort
And as a matter of fact, yo, fuck that
I'm a boat-load of blow, a Columbian transport
Slides through to American soil
Smack a new P-Funk pack, tearin' the foil
When I'm gunnin' for my motherfuckin' share of the spoils
The microphone persona's that of arrogant royals
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
And we're prone to leave ya discombobulated on occasion
When we're concentratin' on just droppin' statements on the songs we're makin'
That are complicated with the proper placement
Of the syllables we use to fill the holes and put all up inside the cadence
Got these lines I'm layin' with my feet on an ottoman
And I'm scrawlin' them lyrics out on sheets of osmium
Because they're technically dense
Rappers are rock stars, tell Gene Simmons he can kiss an electrical fence
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Model Citizen]
Oh no, what did I do
Stomped the competition, got 'em under my shoe
Oh, whoa, what have I done
Got it on lock, ya'll are under my thumb
Yo, I think we gotta ease up on 'em
Oh, shit, we gotta ease up on 'em
Yo, I think we gotta ease up on 'em
Yeah, we gotta ease up on 'em
[Model Citizen]
Kickin' back with the six-pack, maxin'
Packin' the cheeba, breath in and pass it
That's the procedure, creature of habit
Just because I'm weeded doesn't mean I'm an addict
Does it? Yeah, it does because
Somebody lied if they said that I wasn't buzzed
I'm D.O.A. - drunk on arrival
Nose full o' 'ye and a blunt in the pie hole
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
You should pack it up, man, who could blame ya?
You're just another flash in the pan like lewd behavior
My brainstem is half man, half amazin'
A different sample of human nature
Plus I'm the truth and the truth will save ya
Unless you wanna battle, then I'm euthanasia
I leave emcees wide-eyed sort o' like the
Cartoons that are viewed by the youth in Asia
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Model Citizen]
Oh no, what did I do
Stomped the competition, got 'em under my shoe
Oh, whoa, what have I done
Got it on lock, ya'll are under my thumb
Yo, I think we gotta ease up on 'em
Oh, shit, we gotta ease up on 'em
Yo, I think we gotta ease up on 'em
Yeah, we gotta ease up on 'em
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Model Citizen]
Oh no, what did I do
Stomped the competition, got 'em under my shoe
Oh, whoa, what have I done
Got it on lock, ya'll are under my thumb
Yo, I think we gotta ease up on 'em
Oh, shit, we gotta ease up on 'em
Yo, I think we gotta ease up on 'em
Yeah, we gotta ease up on 'em

Lives We Lead
03:55
|
|||
Late night drivin', I picked up my friend
Who was goin' through some shit and she told me she liked joggin'
And she was honest, she said when she did it
It felt like she was runnin' away from her problems
It got me thinkin', things have a way of catchin' up
When you're scornin' the warnin's and keep on messin' up
People ignore what's important and do the extra stuff
Wakin' up at four in the mornin', feeling depressed as fuck
Tryin' to be the best person you can
Until your insecurities get worse and you can't
But overthinkin' your decisions is like livin' in a prison
Because indecisiveness is just a curse for your plans
Clairvoyance can provide buoyancy
When sinkin' in the darkness like you're swimmin' through an oil leak
'Cause it's just gasoline for the funnel
And heart muscles grow stronger every struggle
It gets kind o' blurry sometimes
It gets a little blurry sometimes
It gets kind o' blurry sometimes
It gets a little blurry sometimes
When everything becomes unclear
Askin' how did we end up here?
And I don't wanna wind up blind
But it gets blurry sometimes
Can we be less cynical? Or is the struggle too cyclical?
Does greed outweigh good deeds and what's reciprocal?
Finding anything to distract from being sad again
Even though that ain't the same as having happiness
Some roads to the unknown are too steep
Seein' cries for help in my Facebook newsfeed
Like what's goin' on? And I think they need
More than me clickin' like or posting heart emoticons
But when you're busy makin' ends meet
Sometimes the time's not there for what you and your friends seek
And it makes me sick to say it, 'cause it's contagious
Relationships with neighbors become
Distant strangers in different places
Life stories being written but on different pages
Damn, we all lose touch, tryin' to move up
Sometimes these lives we lead are too much
It gets kind o' blurry sometimes
It gets a little blurry sometimes
It gets kind o' blurry sometimes
It gets a little blurry sometimes
When everything becomes unclear
Askin' how did we end up here?
And I don't wanna wind up blind
But it gets blurry sometimes
Sometimes, sometimes
Sometimes, sometimes
Sometimes, sometimes
But even if our paths keep divergin'
I'll never forget how you affected me under the sternum
Emotions so fervent they repurposed existin'
The best feeling's being needed, knowing you made a difference
You helped me understand how different neurosystems are wired
And when we swapped signals it rekindled something brighter
I've seen mental breakdowns, physical disabilities
Wish I could do more, miserable and it's killin' me
To see loved ones suffer, wish I had a way to
Help ease the pain that I can't always relate to
'Cause sometimes the best efforts aren't enough
People can't necessarily heal just 'cause they're loved
Recover at your own speed, I'm sendin' positive vibes
And I'll never be too far if you wanna say hi
Less encounters, but I still appreciate you
And if nothing else, I just wanna say thank you

Post-Truth World
04:45
|
|||
We're drifting away
We're drifting away
We're drifting away
We're drifting
In a post-truth world where nothing is as it seems
Where information doesn't match with realities
Bubbles inflated, insulated with inaccuracies
Of ignorance that's proliferated gradually
And irrationalities lead to casualties
From normalizing abnormalities
And it's fucked up, isn't it?
How even friends and family get sucked up in the shit
Con artists etch sketches for collectors
'Cause the confused misconstrue and accept it
I'm rattled and I'm shaken, it's disastrous and dangerous
Weavin' fabrications through the fabric of our nation
Inflammatory statements at rallies full o' hatred
They give their affirmation but don't challenge or debate it
And lenses of perceptions hold views in all directions
Whether or not it's really where the sense is
There's something awry, distorted and strange
Don't wanna stay, black out and fade into a distant place
Tomorrow may come, but everything's changed
Drifting away, can't wash the stain, languishing in disgrace
Burdened, uncertain, lights dim while exploring
Wayward walks through uncharted territory
'Cause even these deceptively beautiful mornings
Are unsettling reminders of global warming
It's in the air, a turning of the tides
Anxieties rise as high as ocean lines
Tensions heating up, drowning in the lies
From the powers that be with no regard for our lives
A clear warning, a sign of the times
Constantly wagin' a war inside of our minds
The same time there's another outside that's alive
Hard to confront both fronts, though we strive to survive
Legions of people retreating to where it's easier
Some amongst drugs or love from social media
Further introverted, converted into a hermit
A veneer to obscure the fear beneath the surface
There's something awry, distorted and strange
Don't wanna stay, black out and fade into a distant place
Tomorrow may come, but everything's changed
Drifting away, can't wash the stain, languishing in disgrace
The view is scary, seen the disillusion wearing
Down hard on the hearts and minds of revolutionaries
Perverted wisdom livin' within a victim
Cynicism, it's a symptom of the system
Systematical collateral, lack of hope
Radicals cut down until the ax is broke
Gettin' to the point like what's the point?
But we ain't goin' out quietly, we make noise
Shut down highways if no one's helping
I've shed tears with peers, it feels so overwhelming
The anguished cries that humanity's lost
Never to return 'til the insanity stops
Meandering thoughts, scatterbrained, scavenging remains
Salvaging a way forward, scrapping with the angst
Eradicated faith in this national disgrace
Knowing full well that we have to be the change
We're drifting away
We're drifting away
We're drifting away
We're drifting away
We're drifting away
We're drifting away
We're drifting away
We're drifting

Sound The Horns
04:09
|
|||
I never rest, nope, I never rest
No, I never rest, nope, nope, I never rest
I never rest
Sound the horns
I'm eruptin' from the underground, similar to how a mountain's formed
Wack rappers got a lot to say
And if I die in obscurity, spread my ashes on the Walk Of Fame
Stay sharp as katanas, gettin' better and better, too
Fight against the machine like the Nebuchadnezzar crew
I'm a disruption, a glitch that's in the Matrix
There's not enough difference makers, where are the innovators?
Emcees think they're hotter than incinerators
But responses from the audience are colder than refrigerators
You gotta feel it in your heart like defibrillators
You should care about the art if you really make it
Shoot for success in a cesspool of really famous
Mediocre fodder that's force-fed on your dinner tables
I treat my shot like a sniper pointin' pistol gauges
So let's get it poppin' off and rock it when I hit the stages
I never rest, nope, nope, I never rest
There's too much work to be done, so I can never rest
Everywhere I look I'm at a loss for sentences
From the bottom of the barrel to the top of Everest
I never rest, nope, nope, I never rest
I feel the pressure again, so I can never rest
Until this whole world becomes the fuckin' end of us
Battle on until I'm in the sediment
Twenty years it took to realize that my eyes had been blinded
Indoctrinated since the time that I was a child in diapers
But it made me stronger, no longer tryin' to find a messiah
Pryin' my irises open, scopin' out what was denied me
Now my grip on reality's tighter and tighter
And it's a very sobering view when you're finally enlightened
Liars try to hide the truth behind a wall out of sight but
If you can climb it, then you'll find a lot that can inspire excitement
So I keep the pride of a fighter with the eye of the tiger
Like I was Survivor, combined with the mind of MacGyver
Settin' goals higher and higher as I perspire
'Cause I never wanna settle for the life of a nine-to-fiver
It's overrated and 'til I am retired
I'm motivated to just go away and light up a fire
Beneath the seat of my pants until every fiber's ignited
Fueling my feelings to acquire the prize I desire
Because I never rest, nope, nope, I never rest
There's too much work to be done, so I can never rest
Everywhere I look I'm at a loss for sentences
From the bottom of the barrel to the top of Everest
I never rest, nope, nope, I never rest
I feel the pressure again, so I can never rest
Until this whole world becomes the fuckin' end of us
Battle on until I'm in the sediment
Hey yo, I've been parched, thirstin', as the world's burnin'
So let's march through the flames, dressin' in Kevlar
Desperate to get far, before the GOP
Destroys the entire planet like the Death Star
Never rest, strenuous heaviness on my neck and chest
Head is stressed, can't carry my brain's weight
Follow footsteps of dead superstars through the art
Tryin' super hard, though, not to suffer the same fate
Agin' and decayin', breakin' down my molecular structure
Stare at the void 'til my retinas rupture
With this vacancy I'm left in, situational depression
Can be inescapable if situations aren't corrected
Pick apart my paranoia, try to diagnose me
Am I the product of broken-hearted harm or just no sleep?
Hoping for hope, holding a rope, juggling choices
Searching for a voice, writing songs for the voiceless
So I can never rest, nope, nope, I never rest
There's too much work to be done, so I can never rest
Everywhere I look I'm at a loss for sentences
From the bottom of the barrel to the top of Everest
I never rest, nope, nope, I never rest
I feel the pressure again, so I can never rest
Until this whole world becomes the fuckin' end of us
Battle on until I'm in the sediment
Ahhhh

[Cappie]
Oooooooohhhhhhhh
Oooooooohhhhhhhh
Oooooooohhhhhhhh
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
Collect my thoughts 'til my head looks like the home of a hoarder
Obsessed with life's brink and going over the border
'Cause I'm gettin' older, if only these years were movin' slower
So many things I wanna fit in by the closure
But my brain's fried, I'm burnt out and gettin' smoldered
Like the weight that I hold on my shoulders was full of sulfur
Comin' to grips with death like MC Ride
But existential crises got me empty inside
Misty-eyed memories crawl like centipedes in my mind
Analyzin' every moment and what it signified
Went through hard times like the cafe on Riverside
Boggling to fathom where I'll end up when I'm sixty-five
How many metaphors can your mind concoct
To personify the constant grind of the life you've got?
Personal revelations trapped behind the writer's block
Lookin' for a spark to ignite 'em like a lightning rod
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Cappie]
Stunted growth and all these wilted hopes of endless feats, they empty me
My impulses destroyed, anxious to fill the void and set me free, so desperately
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
Now age ain't nothin' but a number, but it's fuckin' up my slumber
'Bout a couple hundred months I spent just hustlin' for somethin'
'Cause when budgets don't get funded and your troubles keep on comin'
Then you wonder if that stuff that you put up with was for nothin'
When you're fantasizin', strivin' to be ballin' like you're Iverson
But you're cryin' in the corner, bawlin' out your eyes instead
Ambitions stallin', homies callin', sayin' try again
Feelin' like you're failin', trailin', fallin' down behind the rest
Ain't what I expected in my early adolescence
Swallowed pride with a bitter pill, becoming acquiescent
Hated mirror images in moments of reflection
Can be barely palpable and never easily accepted
Life lessons lessen when your teachers get to steppin'
Left with nothin' but a bunch o' the same mistakes you keep regrettin'
And when you keep regressin', well, then it begs the question
If there's any future to be forged to map a happy endin'
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Cappie]
Stunted growth and all these wilted hopes of endless feats, they empty me
My impulses destroyed, anxious to fill the void and set me free, so desperately
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
Can't picture fatherhood, don't know if I'll ever want it
I've always felt unfulfilled and I don't know if I've got it
In myself to instill in a seed what it needs
When I can't even satisfy that part of me with my deeds
I'm zonin' out on the daily, tryin' to wrap my head around
Tying the knot one day so I can finally settle down
But my stomach ties up in knots whenever thoughts
Come of walkin' down the aisle and away from what I want
Plus a girl deserves more than I can currently give
And my fluctuating weight's a symbol for how I live
With more ups and downs than the Konami Code
Why do everyday milestones always feel impossible
But when self doubt's breakin' out like a monster
Then I'm brushin' up on bravery, repeating this mantra
Nothin' grows in comfort zones, even plants need the storms
Troubles sewn will come and go, but the persistent reap rewards
[Christopher Michael Jensen & Cappie]
Stunted growth and all these wilted hopes of endless feats, they empty me
My impulses destroyed, anxious to fill the void and set me free, so desperately
[Christopher Michael Jensen]
Stunted growth and all these wilted hopes of endless feats, they empty me
My impulses destroyed, anxious to fill the void and set me free
