Shit can pop off, any minute it could go down
Cops keep killin', 'specially if your skin tone's brown
I mean, fifteen minutes from my own house
They murdered George Floyd right here in my hometown
Laid bare, no where that they could hide it
So folks had to fight it, uprises and riots
A lot o' tears shed, even more from the gasses
My friends got arrested after rubber bullets blasted
I still think about it, lookin' back, remembering
So many nerves, nonstop news deafening
Fights like wrestling, civil rights lessening
Long nights cappin' off more days of reckoning
But as flames burned it churned a revolution
'Cross continents for justice and restitution
Marches in the U.K., murals in Syria
Protests in Australia for people treated inferior
Hard to process the magnitude
After that day on 38th and Chicago Avenue
Felt so far through every longitude and latitude
